I’m here to help

We count calories and exercise portion control throughout our adult life and now we’re supposed to trust something we can’t see with our new babies!

If your new baby has lost more than 10% of it’s birth weight or is failing to meet estimated growth targets you might want to seek help and figure out what’s really going on.

Women are all made in different shapes and sizes which makes it impossible to say exactly what each baby should have at each feed but there are ways to tell if what they get is enough.

When a new baby is born we promote on demand feeding, this means baby gets what they want, when they want it. If a baby has lost weight or mothers begin to have concerns about supply it may be time to call in a professional for help, this often means implementing a feeding plan with a little more structure, even if just for a day or two!

Low milk supply is real and it can take time to fix, the key is getting the right support at the right time allowing you to get the best results.

If supply issues are something you experienced with your last baby and you’re pregnant again, speak with a lactation consultant before baby is born. This way you can learn about ways to increase and maintain supply before baby is here!
